Veins have always been considered unimportant in the “human body”, so much so that they were considered only as an aesthetic hindrance or little more. Instead they represent THE MAIN drainage system of toxins produced by the cells of every organ and system.
The correct functioning of the VENOUS system is an essential element for good health. Preserving a venous system and not destroying it with demolitive surgery, or with other methods that suppress important venous axes (saphenous veins) is not curative but a harbinger of vascular decompensation and relapses over time which exceed 50% of cases.
No more demolition therefore, but systematic research into the suitable system to guarantee protection while respecting venous drainage, not only maintained but improved.
In this regard, the use of ultrasound is forcefully emerging in the world through a particular therapy, HIFU (High Focused Ultrasound) or more commonly ECHOTHERAPY, where without incisions, without injection of drugs, and therefore without demolishing noble structures, it is possible to intervene in an absolutely non-invasive way in treating areas of venous reflux, in a targeted and “hemodynamic” way or only by acting on the reflux points.
The procedures are performed at the Vein Academy Ippocrate in Parma by the team of Prof Casoni, Dr. Emanuele Nanni and Dr. Matteo Pizzamiglio.
Ecotherapy, through a sophisticated device called SONOVEIN®, allows a totally outpatient procedure, without hospitalization, with a return to life on the same day.
Ippocrate Vein Clinic has the first and currently only equipment in Italy and the first 300 cases have already been successfully performed.
To date there are 20 Sono-Vein® in the world, where approximately 4500 cases have been performed, the European Union stands out with London, Vienna, Madrid, Marbella, Lille, Prague, Riga and now also Parma, and in the near future with Abu-Dhabi, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, other equipment will be placed
Together with Ecotherapy, an innovative and very effective system appears on the horizon in the preparation of sclerosing foam. This is the VariXio, a simple Spanish brand device that allows the obtaining of a standardized sclerosing foam, the use of which allows perfect integration with the Sonovein, so as to make over 95% of cases with varicose veins in the lower limbs treatable on an outpatient basis.
This represents a huge step forward for the treatment of a very frequent pathology, although fortunately not always disabling, however thanks to these new methods it will be possible to resolve even complex cases in compromised or very delicate patients, and on the less clinical and more aesthetic side, off also offer young subjects a 100% non-invasive, robotic methodology that can be performed without interrupting common work activities.
There are no incisions and the treatment is performed with ultrasound, therefore without side effects. It is clear that it is an operator-dependent method, and the patient requires an accurate clinical evaluation and pre-treatment color Doppler ultrasound. The first results at a European level are comforting and we hope that industry and technology will collaborate closely with us specialists to be able to produce smarter and more usable equipment on a large scale in a few years.
In this regard, the Ippocrate Vein Clinic Center in Parma will be a training center at a European level.
