The arrival of good weather often raises concerns about cellulite in the legs. The Italian surgeon Paolo Casoni, specialized in phlebology, fights this adipose anomaly with a vascular treatment and at the same time with a ‘liporeduction’.

Marbella, May 31, 2021.- With good and constant physical activity and a regular diet low in carbohydrates and high in fiber, cellulite can be prevented. But for cases where this disease has already manifested itself, there are two treatments whose success largely lies in developing them together, explains Italian vascular surgeon Paolo Casoni. He employs them at the Ceram clinic in Marbella.

Aware from her professional experience that cellulite is a “problem” for women “especially in the summer season”, it is common, says Casoni, that there are “many questions” in this regard; “They ask me how it can be cured or disguised.” In addition to “taking care of your diet and exercising daily”, there are “also two treatments” that must be used “together”.

The first is TIF (Functional Injective Therapy), “similar to a very fine sclerotherapy that is practiced inside the veins of the legs”. With this method, explains Casoni, “it will greatly improve the drainage of the lower limbs”, thus correcting the fluid retention – lymphostasis and phlebostasis – associated with cellulite. The veins are “squeezed” thanks to the injected sclerosing foam. This treatment, which is the “main key” to cure this condition, is based on the patent “WO2019234120-Polidocanol as an Immunomodulating Agent to treat varicose veins without producing harmful side effects for the human body that I have registered”.

The second treatment is an injection of a “drug cocktail” with phosphatidylcholine and vitamins (C, E, antioxidants, etc.) which can help reduce fat, fat cells, both in number and volume.

Both methods, which can be applied in the same session, are outpatient. Casoni recommends repeating it every 15 days or every month, and “with three or four sessions you can see the result”.

Regarding the causes of cellulite, Casoni explains that there are three: it is a “problem of circulatory microcirculation” and also of a “hormonal and nutritional type”.
