The cure / A special painless ultrasound-based treatment that leaves no scars /
It will be an Italian exclusive Sonovein, the minimally invasive machine that allows the treatment of varicose veins. It will go into operation in November in Parma, in the Centro Medico Ippocrate directed by Professor Paolo Casoni. This is a new method, revolutionary compared to any phlebology treatment currently used to treat varicose veins.
The treatment was created for the treatment of benign tumors of the breast and thyroid, later it was decided to use it also in phlebology because the goal is to go more and more towards the conservation of important veins, abandoning the techniques of destruction now in use. All without injecting the drugs and without going to the operating room.
The machine uses the ultrasound technique exactly like ultrasound machines, but unlike these, it focuses on the point it has to treat and concentrates the energy there, going down even two or three centimeters deep under the skin through high-energy waves. A minimally invasive treatment, which does not need catheters or venous accesses and above all leaves no scars. Lasting just twenty minutes, after which you can immediately go home.
This exclusive therapy, however, cannot be done at every patient. There will be a selection based on the fact that not all varicose veins are the same, but around 70% of patients can certainly be treated, including the elderly, subjects with ulcers or pluriallergics.
“The chapter in the medical books dedicated to this technique has yet to be written – says Professor Casoni – and we at the Centro Medico Ippocrate are ready to write it”. Only here, in fact, in Italy can varicose veins be treated in this way, without the need to eliminate the saphenous vein with all the post-operative consequences that derive from it. The “recruitments” of patients, on the other hand, will take place in Milan, Brescia, Salerno and in Liguria.
